CAMP THEMES
Week 1: June 6th- 10th
Come learn about different kinds of locomotors! We will have a
uniformed pilot teach the children everything they want to know
about flying! We encourage children to bring a small toy that
represents their favorite form of transportation!
Week 2: June 13th-17th
This is space week. Get ready to expand their minds as they learn
about the entire solar system! We will talk about the sun, moon,
stars, planets and more! Children will make rockets to shoot into
space.
Week
3: June 20th-24th
Come explore the magic of fairy tales and fables in this delightful
look at the stories that bring joy to childhood. We will have lots
of imaginative play with dress-up and story time.
Children will choose their favorite fairy tale and enact the
stories. We will also
learn valuable lessons in fables and have a manners lesson.
Week 4: June 27th-July 1st
Come explore what lives below the waves. We will discover many
marine animals that live in the oceans and how those animals
interact with each other. We will also discover what lives in the
sand and create a sand masterpiece. Have your favorite marine animal
in mind when you come!
Week 5: July 4th- 8th
This is a great opportunity for kids to have fun while learning
about the importance of our July 4th holiday.
We will also add a fun twist and discover what is red, white
or blue at the Zoo. We would love to see everyone wearing red, white
and blue in support of our country!
Week 6: July 11th- 15th
Enter into our world of imaginative play! Along with our staff, the
mates will be searching for a hidden treasure! Children will craft
their own treasure chests and enjoy learning about pirates and
ships. There will be tons of fun with lots of imaginative
role-playing and or course, treasure!
Week 7: July 18th-22nd
A
great opportunity for creativity! The children will be able to use
their imaginations to create a story, and their creative side to
turn it into a book. It could be a storybook or a picture book, but
either way, they will be proud to bring home their accomplishment so
they can read you a bedtime story!
Get your dancing shoes on!
Together we will learn different music sounds while inspiring
our bodies to move to the music!
Children will craft an instrument to express their creativity
with sound.
The silly circus comes to town! Children learn about circus
performers and their animal friends. Juggling and clown acts
will be a fun part of this week of exploration.
Week
10: August 8th- 12th
Children will learn about SC flowers and other plants that grow in
our area. Each child will contribute to a window box flower
garden and watch as the plants grow. Children will discover
colors and scents of different garden plants as well as the animals
that live in our gardens. Bring your bird watching eyes!
