LEAPIN’ LIZARDS is proud to continue our Summer Day Camp Program for 2011. We offer a wide variety of themed activities and interactive programs to interest any child.  All of our day camps include a themed craft, snack, and interactive activities supervised by our trained staff!  Register NOW

CAMP DETAILS

Ø    Camps run from 6 June - 12 August and are designed for children between the ages of 3 and10 years old. 

Ø      Camp hours are 9-12:00 M-F

Ø      We offer parent friendly schedules.  You can choose as little as one day or as many as 9 weeks of fun filled programs for your children.  We recommend pre-registration as our camps have limited space.  However, we understand your needs may change and accept drop-in campers (call ahead for availability).

CAMP THEMES

Week 1: June 6th- 10th : Zoom, Zoom…Ways to Go

Come learn about different kinds of locomotors! We will have a uniformed pilot teach the children everything they want to know about flying! We encourage children to bring a small toy that represents their favorite form of transportation!

Week 2: June 13th-17th : Space is the Place

This is space week. Get ready to expand their minds as they learn about the entire solar system! We will talk about the sun, moon, stars, planets and more! Children will make rockets to shoot into space.

 Week 3: June 20th-24th : Fairy Tales and Fables

Come explore the magic of fairy tales and fables in this delightful look at the stories that bring joy to childhood. We will have lots of imaginative play with dress-up and story time.  Children will choose their favorite fairy tale and enact the stories.   We will also learn valuable lessons in fables and have a manners lesson.  

Week 4: June 27th-July 1st : High Tide at the Seaside

Come explore what lives below the waves. We will discover many marine animals that live in the oceans and how those animals interact with each other. We will also discover what lives in the sand and create a sand masterpiece. Have your favorite marine animal in mind when you come!

Week 5: July 4th- 8th : Red, White, Blue and the Zoo

This is a great opportunity for kids to have fun while learning about the importance of our July 4th holiday.  We will also add a fun twist and discover what is red, white or blue at the Zoo. We would love to see everyone wearing red, white and blue in support of our country!

Week 6: July 11th- 15th : Treasure Hunters

Enter into our world of imaginative play! Along with our staff, the mates will be searching for a hidden treasure! Children will craft their own treasure chests and enjoy learning about pirates and ships. There will be tons of fun with lots of imaginative role-playing and or course, treasure!

Week 7: July 18th-22nd : Story Tellers

A great opportunity for creativity! The children will be able to use their imaginations to create a story, and their creative side to turn it into a book. It could be a storybook or a picture book, but either way, they will be proud to bring home their accomplishment so they can read you a bedtime story!

 Week 8: July 25th-29th : Moovin’ and Groovin’

Get your dancing shoes on!  Together we will learn different music sounds while inspiring our bodies to move to the music!  Children will craft an instrument to express their creativity with sound.

 Week 9: August 1st- 5th : Under the Big Top

The silly circus comes to town!  Children learn about circus performers and their animal friends.  Juggling and clown acts will be a fun part of this week of exploration.

 

 Week 10: August 8th- 12th : How Does Your Garden Grow?

Children will learn about SC flowers and other plants that grow in our area.  Each child will contribute to a window box flower garden and watch as the plants grow.  Children will discover colors and scents of different garden plants as well as the animals that live in our gardens.   Bring your bird watching eyes!
